about me

My name is Luuk Deen, and I am a results-driven and hands-on finance professional that wants to make progress toward a better world by building finance practices for like-minded companies. I am a lover of outdoor sports and the challenge and determination that come with them. I love to be and work with people and to have fun.

In 2022, I went on a four-month trip that changed the way I want to live my life. My girlfriend and I traveled alongside the Andes Mountains for four months, which has been amazing and confrontational at the same time. Experiencing climate change even closer instilled in me a desire to be an agent of change as it is crucial for the future of our home planet and for humankind to act today. In every aspect of life, including my work, I want (and we all need) to contribute to preventing climate change. I want my work to be even more impactful, for myself and for the future of our home planet.

That's why I started my own company, Patagon Projections, with the goal to help companies that are creating a better world, on an ad interim basis. By helping companies professionalize their finance practices in a fit-for-purpose way and by partnering with the business, the main focus of the company can be on growing their business and thus increasing their impact.

Having worked in various different roles for fast-growth companies NewMotion (member of the Shell Group) and VanMoof operating in the energy (transition), e-mobility, and retail business, brought me broad and in-depth financial experience and necessary skills. 

I thrive in a dynamic and fast-changing environment where a ‘getting things done’ mentality is the one way to move forward. I am a fast thinker, I don’t need much time to understand the problem and to come up with a solution. I bring structure and routines while maintaining necessary flexibility levels, and I make decisions (fast, if needed) based on facts and with longer-term objectives in mind. As said, results matter, achieved through clear communication and expectations management, a fit-for-purpose approach and together with and with respect for other people.

My intrinsic drive and relevant experience together with my Master in Financial Management and my Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification, provide me with a considerable backpack of tools I can use to help your company.
